Default Horrible engine noise

Guy I need your help again

Whilst driving the other day I heard a noise that sounded like something was lose, upon investigation this is not the case, instead iv discovered the noise is coming from inside the lump itself on the drivers side

The noise only comes on fir a millisecond on start up and when I'm at 2000 rpm or more. The sound is a metal on metal banging sound

Any ideas on what this May be guys?

It's a v5 lump that I got from API a few years back and haven't even covered 50k miles yet.

I'll be uploading a video of the noise in the next day or so.

Youtube videos of big end failure etc and see what one it sounds like.

Mine spat a shim and would rattle at certain revs due to incorrect cam clearance.

Try put a screw driver on the head and the crank case etc and put your ear on the end it will help you pinpoint it better

If it is the problem I don't think it has because the idle sounds fine to me
