Hi,

This morning my throttle cable became stuck, I sprayed wd40 on it etc...But all day its been idling at 2000-3000rpm. Then it throws a engine light after stop start traffic, which turns out to be icv fault. Cleared the fault but it came back after 20mins.

Would the sticky cable throw up this error and more than likely go when fixed?. Or...Would it be a new icv needed?.

Its a 2003 bugeye.

Sounds like the icv. I managed to clean mine you can get details if you google. I was lucky and did mine without a new gasket.

 

The engine light has gone out now...I'll get the cable sorted and clean the icv out tomorrow, hopefully it sorts it.
Im wondering if it is to do with the cable, as it wasn't sticking as bad as earlier then the light went out.

 

if you need a new icv..be prepare for a shock ...they are £300+ for new one !!!!!!!!!!!

 

Haha I know mate! I called Roger clark yesterday and was quoted £308. Ive sourced one 15mins from me for £40 luckily lol, I'll try the cable first though....
