Default Noise from turbo area

Hi all,
I have got a wrx n reg and I have a rattle noise from the turbo area. It sounds like a heat shield but all seems secure? Any ideas or anyone else got/has this[/QUOTE]

It usually is the heat shield, whip it off and recheck

Its normally the heatshield covering the downpipe from the turbo, its there to stop the brake cylinder from getting too hot i think (could be totally wrong, as i am no mechanic). I think it has two skins to it, sometimes it comes lose and rattles.

Could it be a bracket from the decat fouling on something?

Does it sound more like a scratching on idle then increase with higher revs? I only ask as I've just removed a turbo that's knackered and that sounded like a scratching, metal on metal. Failing that it would be a case of trying to tighten up anything that may have worked loose, I'm sure somebody will be along to advise you further
