Default 1/18 scale models

thought i would start a thread up on models as i am sure a few of you have them

thought i would start with this thread
the model is a replica of the famous reyland 3 door cossie
adam french is the owner and builder of this model and is a moderator on the mm forum i run
adams attention to detail is something else and needs to be seen to be believed
not only are 90% of the parts used on the model scratch built but they are done to a standard which is out of this world
the thread is around 30 pages long and the model is still not finished but if you have the time to read through it and see the pictures i am sure you will appreciate just how much work has gone into it
another thing to mention is adam does not like using glue ! so everything he scratch builds fit together the way it should , the turbo alone on this model consists of no less than 11 parts
enjoy

I nearly bought a model of my model Impreza (2003 Black STi) a few years back that was made by AutoArt. Kept putting it off and putting it off and when I finally got around to it they are discontinued! Gutted.

I've an auto art version of the stock low spoiler and non Prodrive edition sti.

You'd need to make the rear wing, roof vent, bonnet vent, grille and bumper to suit.

The AutoArt bugeye (non-Prodrive) STi is quite easy to get hold of actually. I wish the Blobeye was as easy to find.

From the link, my favourite bit is this:

"SPECIAL OFFER: was £ 58,95 now only £ 59,95"

I wonder if Gordon Brown runs the firm selling it?

Very nice looking model though.

frayz what ever we dont have we will scratch build mate
it all depends on how far you want to go with a model
most people settle for something the looks the same at first glance others want it as accurate as can be , this is when things get expensive , scratch building parts is time consuming , however if its something i can do and sell as a product after it will help with the costs of building it.
its impossible to know how much to charge without seeing your car and talking to you at length about how you want the model to look etc
hopefully at the pub meet we can have a chat about it
if any of you would like to see some models and parts ill happily bring some along

we very rarely sell models on ebay , too much hard work and the fees are horrendous , just are parts shop racks up 300.00 quid a month in selling fees

best thing about models is you can modd them to death and it dont cost much , the biggest plus is your only limited by your own imagination and ability too
