Essex Subaru Owners Club, getting our forum in order?
Okay chaps,
Just wanna try and keep all of this info in one place.
I've put a request in to try and be a moderator for the Essex section at least. This is to try and rearrange the forum with a fresh face and tidy up some old threads that are all based around the old ESC brand.
Ie get rid of some old "stickys" and put up new ones that are relevant to the club as it stands here in 2013.
This is by no means a dictatorship or anything like that. I want what I believe we all want, a club run by the members, for the members. Therefore I put my name forward as a possible moderator to help run things.
Stickys i think should be included:
ESOC code of conduct?
New ESOC logo vinyls?
New ESOC clothing apparel?
New ESOC owners gallery etc?
New ESOC Facebook page here?
So far, has anyone yet asked SN to change the forum area name etc? I believe this was being done between Nate & knotty?
I'm sorting new vinyls as we speak and in know Ron is well on the case of sorting the clothing.
Anyone have any, thoughts, views, questions or suggestions?
Regards
Frayz.

Good idea when you think that one sticky had it's last post by Tiny in 2006!
The forum has fallen into a certain amount of disrepair and needs a couple of sticky plasters!
I enjoyed the Essex group back in the old days before someone thought it would be 'cool' to call it 'Crew' I may be accused of being a bit 'geeky' here, but I enjoyed it when we used to meet and talk about the cars and technical stuff. It started to get a little bit 'Cliquey' as it got bigger and not wanting to chat about football or Big Brother etc, I drifted away.
All credit to Frayz for giving it a go.

Yeah, I run a Fiesta Owners Club and the sail banners are £££ We use banners4all as our supplier, a nice little family run business. Drop me a line when the time comes and I can possibly get them on our account with discount.

Nice one Frayz
You have my vote as a Mod +1
This forum could do with a little clean up with all the outdated sticky's etc as know one else seems to do it !!!!
Although will it be that easy to become a Mod ???
Thought you had to be one of Jesus's original disciples to even be considered to enter the world of the elite
As for the name change !!
Lets hope Stu@internetbrands will let us do this
Otherwise .... What the hell has the past 3 months been all about
He must be semi aware of what's been going on in this part of the forum
Also lets hope that Nate responds to your request adam

Agree Steve, the ESC has been a big part of all or lives. Been so many places, had so many laughs and met some amazing people that have remained friends throughout.
However, as we all know. The ESC as we knew it started a sad decline when we lost our long term chairman. A person with more character and charisma than even his size suggested lol.
Times have also changed, many people have moved on. Starting families and other commitments. Also the finances of our country has changed.
Back then, an Impreza was an expensive car. Subsequently owned primarily by a slightly older age group. Now they can be had for next to nothing, so are in the affordability of most people who want one.
This has seemingly bought the age group down and now a different type of owner.
Some may say its for the worse, some may say for the better.
But what's for certain, the ESC isn't what it was 4 years ago. It never will be, but in my opinion. I think it's great to see new people still enjoying something that we did for all that time.
So this is for the new generation, something they can build and enjoy into whatever direction they wish to take it.
Here's to the start of something new, and maybe...
Just maybe, it could be the best yet?

As I said in my previous post (#2) things have changed and recognising that and planning a re-organisation based on what there is now, is well worth a try.
I've owned two Imprezas over the last (almost) 14 years and as a pensionable petrolhead and one of the original Essex group, I'm still as keen as I was back then. Hopefully, this might encourage a few of us 'old brigade' back to a meet or two!

I think you'll find a lot of the old ESC still lurk around here. Lots of them on my Facebook still and many still in contact. Quite a few have "liked" the new Essex Subaru Owners Club Facebook page. So when meets are advertised on there also, they will get notifications of the dates should they wish to attend.
The beauty of having the Facebook page is that we will hopefully reach a wider audience than just those who frequent Scoobynet.

As with most of us ESC'ers things have moved on, BUT if i see a meet that i can make and know a few are attending i will do my best to be there. Sadly it will have to be in the L200 (altho could tow the radical there ) You might even be lucky enough to have Me, Spally & Dazza arrive on our latest fad (as long as its not TOO far from benfleet )

Our current monthly gathering is at The Rodney Inn, just outside Danbury.
Quaint little Inn owned and run by Scoobysmeets parents.
Everyone is welcome, old or new no matter what you're now driving. If you have an interest in the Subaru marque then there's room for you.

I would have loved to of owned a subaru years ago back in the late 90's ! But as you said , they were well out of my price range back then
Well as you said ..... Everyone is welcome New and old members , it is really not worth fighting and dividing the club up into new and old members, that would be a disaster
We're all here on this forum for the same reason ..... Our passion for owning and driving Subaru's
It would be great to all move forward into new beginnings , a new era for the Essex Subaru scene
