They dont cause wear, but you may get erratic idling depending on what you go for. HKS SSQV are probably the best but expensive

I have an SSQV, no idle issues with it. Had a forge before, and that was the same.

Leave the oem one in place. Aftermarket VTA valves do nothing for your engine or performance.

I remember you saying that to me about 6 years ago, you also said "good for scaring old ladies but not much else". I never did get one!

Theres some reet nasty stick wielding old lady beee-atches near me ..... sounds like a loud dump valve might be a good idea then!

Just to clarify though, dumpvalves do an important job and prolong the life of your turbo! if your running a pretty standard engine (which still uses the maf), a recirc is the only way to go and the standard OE recirc works just as well as any other.

If your still running the maf, and dont mind compromising the fuelling of your engine to make that "bad *** rally car sound innit", then i suggest you take a step back and get your priorities right ..... not saying it'll definately cause problems, some people seem to get away with it fine ..... but it is taking the air and fuelling away from what the ecu is set to and therefore could potentially cause running problems.

If your running a more advanced ecu which does away with the maf sensor (e.g. syvecs), then dumping to atmosphere isnt a problem and in my case made the plumbing alot easyer.
