Default Help with MY99 Classic Turbo Wagon

Hey all. I am quite new and only had my Subaru for a few days.

I bought it off here. As I drove off, the CEL came on but the car drives fine.

I tried looking for the ECU jumper cables today to read the fault code, but I could not find it. Instead I found an OBD port under the steering column.

Does anyone have a code reader to read my code for me?

Cheers.

The cables will be there mate!
2 green and 2 black, when I 1st went looking for mine I had to recline the front seat, stick my legs over the back of it and get my head right under to look for them, they were really quite high up and taped back into the loom

Honestly mate, mine were buried well and truly, gotta get your head right in there with a torch, there will also be a black one on its own with a couple of jumper cables coming from it, that one does the same job, but for your abs system

I will have a good look tomorrow, ta. The car is totally standard apart from a stainless back box and dump valve that I am keen to get rid of.

The interior needs a good clean. Apart from servicing (sort out CEL etc), I want to lower it by about 35mm, fit components and amp. That's it. Quite simple minded eh?

Sounds like a plan mate, and yeah get rid of the dump valve, you will be surprised how much better the car will run

It won't suprise me if it gets rid of that dreaded CEL. Where is the best and cheapest place for a standard dump valve. This is the one I have on the car at the minute.

Stick a wanted thread up in the wanted section mate, pretty sure someone somewhere will have one lying about for ya mate.

Alternatively send Steve's Subaru parts a pm, that's his name on here, he is in Birkenhead on the Wirral, I use him for parts a lot,
Other sellers are available

Cheers, Steve.

Also, how easy is it to replace a driver's door motor. Mine is noisy only when locking. Unlock is fine.

Sorry to bother you mate. I am coming from Toyotas and Hondas.

Never done one mate, wouldn't have thought it would be that difficult, usually the hardest bit is getting the door card off, and suss it out from there, use the search and see if anything on there mate

Looking at your pictures, it may be possible for now to...............

Remove the plug from the return pipe and connect it to the outlet of the valve, as it looks to be designed as a recirc valve.

Cheers mate.

Have you got a paypal address so I can pay you for at least the postage or are you local to Brentwood / Lakeside?

do I need any other hoses as I am unsure the blue one currently on the car is the right part.

Cheers.

Jason.
So have you tried connecting up the existing one????
Slacken off a couple of jubilee clips, rotate the hose and it looks as if they would connect..................

Hi Don.

I just want an OEM one mate to be honest.

When I tried to line them up it almost fitted, but there was a kink in the hose.

Wongy, if you PM me your number we can arrange something as I might be able to collect at the weekend. Please let me know though if you have plans of going to Lakeside (maybe shopping) as I live 5 mins from there.

Cheers.
