Default Can anyone get hold of ......

a couple of litres of Isopropanol (Isopropyl Alcohol).

I need some to clean the gummy residue left after removing some vinyl graphics, I have (up till now) been using petrol, which is doing the trick okay, but the fumes are a bit strong

I could get some off of Ebay, but Wouldn't get it for about a week, and I just want to crack on.

Cheers

KFC wipes FTW - plus you can stuff your face in the process lol

disclaimer: kfc might have removed the alchohol content of the aforementioned cleaning facilitators, without prior notification to myself.

How quick are you able to get hold of it Seb and at what cost ?

I wouldn't mind having 10 litres, as it seems to have a multitude of uses.

I would need 'loads' of them, have to clean down 2x 12'x6' corrugated sides on a trailer!!

Don't think I could handle that much Chicken !!!

Eeeeeeeeeek .... Think I'll stick to petrol or as has been suggested, thinners then.

If you need a cheaper supplier for future reference :-

£40 for 25 litres

That price was just off the top of her head, but no worries

If the surface your cleaning is painted thinners is a big no no, best to get some panel wipe/degreaser from a bodyshop supplier or just use white spirit

If the paint has been on there a good amount of time it wouldn't be affected by standard thinners unless you left it soaked in it for ages which wouldn't happen.

TBH i would'nt want to risk it, expensive mistake if it starts eating in to it and if your getting high off petrol fume's you'll be buzzing on thinners fumes

white spirit will sort your glue issue and is safe for paint if your only wiping down with it,
B&Q sell a budget 5 litres for a fiver so its cheap and easy to get hold of,
Great for de taring too.
