i cant confirm, but would be surprised as they seem to still be upgrading the barrier system along there ready for the increase in speed limit.

but when they do means i will have to get up earlier to get to work!!!!

just done a search, nothing on TFL but did come across someone saying they had received a mail from TFL quoting:

"Please note that enforcement using the average speed cameras is planned to commence from 31 January 2011."

Its 40 at the moment but is being increased to 50 once the cameras are switched on. Even 50 is to slow for that stretch. Going to be hard sticking to that on my way in/out of london when im on nights!!;

Was going to post something on this earlier, still sitting on my pc in work as never got round to hitting submit.

A friend has been told they are going live from 28th Jan and signs will be switched over the next few days. Seems to be the case as coming home this evening new 50 signs have started going up next to the 40 ones.

I know what you mean though, gonna be hard sticking to the limit

But what I don't understand is why....in EVERY average speed zone I've EVER been in is that I've had cars/vans hammer past me like I'm standing still.

I don't know anyone whose ever had a ticket from an average speed trap and you lot usually keep me busy.

I'm starting to doubt these things actually work, or rather they work on the basis that you can only go as fast as the car in front and some ***** have to be in the right hand lane if they are turning right at SCOTLAND...

Didn't say I was doing 50, nobbers

Chris, the A13 only has one lane as far as I'm aware - the middle lane, even at 7:30am on my way home with no traffic, idiots still use the middle lane and get the hump when under-taken (apparently )

ave speed cameras are a load of old tosh ,im convinced they do not work at all.just the preasance slows people down,and the not knowing.
i no the ones down the a127 dont work for sure as ive ignored them since they have ever been there plus the ones on the dartford tunnel and any m25 road works in the last to years.ive never heard of anyone getting caught by thm cams.i dont even think the police no if they work because i got caught doing 70/80 down the 127 by the rozzers and they just let me go and said the ave speed cameras will be in touch and that was well over a year ago.so i think they are all dummys, untill i get caught

Have heard that if you change lanes after passing first camera and exit in second land cameras cant track you.

Dont know how true this is but very few ave speed cameras on our little island
