Default rear sub frame bushes how hard to change

im looking at buying another scooby after selling mine but it says the rear sub frame bushes knock at low speed is this comon just wanted to know how hard they are to change or is it a garage job cheers 2003 wrx sti type uk

More likely rear struts tbh. Would be odd in a newage unless it's a poorly fitted aftermarket exhaust, suspension appendage knocking in that area.

Drop Links are also a common knocking fault in newages... £20 - 10 min fix as far as i read.
Much cheaper and easier than Rear Shocks, but it could be one of a few things.
Would suggest maybe getting a professional car safety check done AA/RAC type affair, so you know what you are getting yourself into.

the bloke says it was mentioned on the last mot that the rear sub frame bushes were knocking i dont want to buy it and it turning out to be be alot of money to fix

looking at trailing arm bushes i recon mate book time for them is about 3 hours but actually can be done in less than 1.

The main problem with RTAB's on other cars i have owned is getting the buggers back in!
They come out easy enough if they are worn, but new ones are a bitch to get in :/

you may be able to speak nicly to your local garage and ask them to press them back in for you? if you can get to said garage without you car that is.

Bushes are cheap, subframes can be had cheap too. However, the labour to remove and refit would be the expensive part

Find out which 'bush' is knocking, sounds a bit non specific to me considering.
