Not logged in for a few days.....(edit Reykjavik pics added)
Because i've been a bit busy!
Friday i got married to my beautiful Mrs, Louise who i've been with for nearly 12 years
We had a perfect day, everything went so smoothly and she looked stunning. I am currently on my short 4 day honeymoon in Reykjavik where we are staying in the King Suite in the Hilton. The room is amazing, i think bigger than the flat we used to live in, 2 TV´s, 2 bathrooms with jacuzzi, the biggest bed ive ever been in etc etc and i am currently sitting in the executive lounge drinking free alcohol and eating free food while waiting for Lou to get ready so we can go out for a meal.
It has been minus 8 today with a 40mph wind. Its funking freezing but saw some amazing scenery earlier, the geysirs, Gulfoss waterfall and the national park - a photographers paradise!
Just also received some awesome news, dont know if anybodies seen the charity remap auction on SIDC courtsey of Dynamix...... well i've only gone and won that aswell so i done think i could be more happier at the moment ha ha

Congratulations on your wedding.
We went to Iceland in 2005. You HAVE to do the Blue Lagoon at some point. We went on the way back to the Airport. Sitting in a boiling hot pool, at -11, with snow falling all around was great

Great news Dan, well done to both of you....... and Iceland is one of the places I have on my "to do" list at some point, so will be very interested in the pictures (if you had time to take any that is).....
And a remap as well.... with that kind of luck...... hope you did the lottery before you went away

no we didnt, we only spent around 3 hours walking around the city as it was so cold. The only bit we didnt see was the harbour though. Had a brill time. The 3 facts that amazed me were
1) Although Iceland is roughly the size of England, only 320k people live there. Out of the 320k, 100k are under 16, 40k are over 65 so that only leaves 180k people to run the country - 2 Wembley fulls!
2) When fossil fuels run out, Iceland has the facilty to power the whole of Europe via geothermal power. The only problem they have is getting the power distributed
3) Nobody has boilers. Hot water comes directly from mains pipes at a constant 82 degrees
Amazing place, just to think 50 years ago, if the phrase was around, it would of been considered a third world country

You also forgot too mention that they are self sufficent in tomato's and were at one time self sufficent in banana's too
Also, there are no different Icelantic accents (i.e like English, Scottish, Irish etc). The language is unique to Iceland, hence they all speak English as no-one else would understand them
I listened to the Tour Guide too
