PICTURES - Richard Burns Memorial Rally
Whilst you lot were all revealing yourselves on Sunday I spent a pleasant day amongst these pretty special sights & sounds.
First the man it was all about.
The planes.
Some action on & off the track.
Steady !!!
Ooops !!!
Steady !!!
Ooops again !!!
CLICK for Aston Martin at play on a breezy airfield
Access all areas. Amazing where a Time Attack shirt can get you in the service area.

i was there for both days and also last year for both days with my RB5 & RB320 clubs
i felt that spectating wasnt as exciting as last year due to most of the track being miles away from us, at least last year we could cross the track and be inside a lot of the stages.
it was better this year with the sevice areas closer tho.
I felt it was very badly organised, much worse then last year and the guy that was in charge came over, blantantly stated he hated scoobs and gave my wife and club members serious attitude. one of my club members was chatting to the lotus club members where the organiser started slagging us off "behind our backs" where he suddenly found out that one was a scooby owner!!!
We were asked there to support the event as its all in Richards name and obvioulsy we support the RBF in everything we do and to be shown this kind of contempt is infuriating, I shall be contacting Chris Daikin and letting him know how the organiser acted towards us.
that aside it was another good event, shame there wasnt such a big turnout
Flat Eric: was good to catch up and nice pics, see you got to get the beast in front of the planes

We had an excellent day thanks & well done on your 6th in class & 10 O/A. If you want a high res copy of my picture of your car let me know & I will email it to you.
I found the spectating was fine for my limited range of walking distance (recovering from snapped Achilles tendon). As you can see I stayed down by that same part of the course as it gave some of the best combinations of hazards to show off the cars & show the drivers skills to best advantage. I heard some of the furthest stages were a bit of a trek but then that's normal for rallying & I was pointed to my viewpoint by Mark (rb5 286) who saved me a lot of wandering around looking for a good spot. Thanks Mark was good to catch up with you.
The service area access using the central fenced off corridor worked well for general viewing. I did manage to go walk about inside just before the start & everyone was very helpful & approachable despite the obvious pressure & stress pre-stage.
It would have been nice if there could have been a few more car/motor sport related trade stands. There was however plenty of food, drink, toilets & stuff for the kids. The geared go karts & static RAF displays were great as well.
Gavin I have found a couple more pictures of your car taken by Scoobycity members that were there with me. The 1st one was taken by Tony (Darkstars) & the 2nd by Jimmy (jimmywrx) & the last by Ady (AdrianP).

Have to agree, as a first timer, that there was little chance of catching much action. There was only one corner even slightly likely to get anything sideways that was within view.
All for a good cause though of course.

Cheers.
I have a disc with quite a few car No22 shots, some sequential ones as well that a friend took. I will try & get in touch with Gavin.
He may want to forget the second picture.
