Great day out - Birds of Prey
We went to Eagle Heights in Kent this weekend, haven't been there for a few years, the last time was a falconry experience day, following a family day out. it's a great day out for people who like bird's of prey and families, they have shows running through most of the day and a lot of aviaries and exotic birds on show, a few mammals and REPTILES for KevD
here are a few pic's I took.
Bald Eagle
African Fish Eagle
Falcon (can't remember which one)
Peregrine Falcon
Obviously the Falcons were a little hard to get pictures of as they were flying them with lures so were travelling rather quick
To top the day off this was a real treat, as far as I'm aware they are the only place you can see this done.
They have 2 Cheetah's,
Granted it wasn't running at full speed, but must have been around 50+ mph, and yes there was just a rope fence between us and the Cheetah, but it was attached to a Zip line and fully harnessed up for safety, it was chasing a dead rabbit (Lunch) being pulled by a washing machine motor
It's been Hand reared for a baby, and very friendly with the keeper.
As you'd expect there is only one form of transport for the worlds fastest land animal...

Looks like a great day Mark and great pics too
May get my fool to take me if we get some free time!
Last year Steve and I had a Falconry afternoon flying some Harris Hawks and a Barn Owl it was great to be up close... except for when you have 2 hawks land on you at once ... 1 on glove and 1 on bare arm... wow those claws are defo sharp!
Would love to spend a day flying in them!

They have loads of different days there, Including the big Eagles.
For a day out it's not far, just down the road from Brands Hatch
