RS Demonstrator!!!!
Just been for a blat in This .......
Love the styling and ride, power was nice but unimpressive (mine would kick it`s **** for sure) it just needs a tweak, O and 4 wheel drive of course
The engine sounds good but again could do with more noise, a noticeable turbo lag but not excessive (done think its a twin scroll).
overall, I would say a consideration for the next car but wouldn`t be able to leave it standard.
If you want a go in this its at the Essex Auto Group at Dunton, A nice man called Nick Goode will sort you out a go. hurry though as its already got 500 miles on it and it`s only four days old.
If you need a second hand Ford Ask for Danny Georgiou ( brother in-law) and I am sure he will get you all a great deal.
Regards
Darren

you wear it well!!!!
I think considering all the factors, the RS is a decent option....
Plus lots of scope to mod... If been around the test track sideways enough to know how much fun it is

Interesting writeup Darren. March 2010 before delivery. I remember back when the original RS was ready to launch & was delayed & delayed a bit more & then a bit more. I gave up waiting & got the UK300.
It looks like it's another car that you buy & then have to spend on to get it how it should have been in the first place. And I can't see them ever bringing out another AWD.

Biased hat on!!!!
Watch this space lol
I know what your saying about "modding" mark, but how many people buy an STI on here and leave it std?
Big brakes, Coilovers, Exhaust, Intercooler, remaps, bigger turbos.... almost std work now...
I know I'm a tad biased but as I said, an RS and an STI are similar beasts and I'm guessing that an RS "might" hold it's value a little more?
As for the AWD / FWD debate.... all I can say is get on a track with someone that can drive ...... I've been in both on hot laps and both cars are awesome. OK around the Ring, the Scooby will eat it for breakfast, but small tracks and back roads, it will hold it's own.
Biased hat off

Have to agree with this man
But at the end of the day I think you have all got it wrong, what you all need is a Mk1 Focus RS
As this video will surely show you, just bear in mind they are all standard cars

I was Told 6 months from order and may be sooner if you are willing to take a cancellation, I got the vibes that there has been a few cancelled orders as well
I was offered Ford options of NO deposit and 36 payments of £692.57 or the maximum deposit of £9,938.00 and £342 that's for the full on the road price of £28,395.00 that's with all options available on the car and in the green ( most expensive)
waiting on the result of a cash price from the brother in law
I must say I was impressed with the amount of Torque steer or should I say lack of it, the grip out of a roundabout is where you really notice the difference in grip from the scoob ........... you again realise it`s a front wheel drive car- and you just then wish Ford had gone for the AWD for that pull and push and dig in you get from the scooby.
the engine is full of torque and pulls from low in all 6 gears very well without any feel of strain, the fuel tank was a quarter full and said 58 miles left
so may be a bit juicy....

Saw a blue one the other day!
Just a white one left to be seen in the flesh now.
.......on another note, I saw a matt black Audi R8 shortly after seeing the RS Focus! Looked mental!

That's what my mate who works for Dovercourt has been telling me since before the launch.
However elsewhere on scoobynet, someone claims to have test driven one on Monday, decided to buy 1 and took delivery of it on the Thursday
