Default Any ideas? Foam/rubber???

OK, the car is now resprayed, and I now park it on my parents drive, to prevent it from being keyed again!
Now the problem is, its not a very long drive (due to a bay window!), so the scooby only just fits.... Don't think my dad will appreciate me taking out the bay window, so the only other option is the following:

The front spoiler sticks out quite far, and as I pull onto the drive, its very likely that I will scuff it on the wall (well..... I already have slightly!!) so I need something soft I can put on the bottom part of the wall to cushion it as I pull onto drive. It has to be black, as thats the colour of the bottom part of the wall! Any ideas of what I could use? Foam, thin rubber? Need to be able to attach it to the wall easily (glue, nail?)

Strange one, but get your thinking caps on!!

How about getting a small block of timber or steel box section bolted or pinned to the floor that your front tyres stop up against just before you hit the wall?

If you have it pinned, it only requires 2 small holes putting in the drive and is easily removable

More or less what Frayz has said, I can get these :-

garage door spares - parts GARAGE PARKING MAT on eBay, also, Garage Doors, DIY Materials, Home Garden (end time 14-Jun-09 02:00:35 BST)

They are what people screw to the floor in a garage, and they are designed with rounded edges to avoid tripping hazards.

I wouldn't suggest nudging into foam or rubber with your splitter/spoiler, as in time in will cause damage.

Yes, sounds good, but it can;t be too high otherwise the spoiler will catch it, and also, when I'm not there, it becomes a tripping hazard, and bearing in mind, my leaves home in the morning after me, and her car is next to mine, she is SURE to trip over it one day and break something!!!

I new the rubber in the title would catch most of your attention! I will put across the parking mat to my dad tonight.

I have tried to use a "focus point" to judge how close I am, but there isn't really anything. I hear what your saying about "nudging" the spolier Nate, but I don't pull up on the drive like I'm doing a 1/4 mile!! I just need something that if I DO nudge it ever so slightly, its not going to scuff the paint work!!

Em, aren't you into horses ?

Strip of rubber stable flooring screwed to the wall.

We bought some to line the dogs area and it cuts easily enough and is tough and strong.

I can see this thread veering off course.

What with rubber in the title, SpecC doing a backdoor entry & Stu wanting to screw something against the wall rather than get on the stable floor.

The voice of reason has found this :-

It's black & foamy & sticks to the wall

Cushioned and Magnetic car door protection system

Or if you want bright :-

Wall Protectors

If all else fails then this is your last resort :-

I was just thinking the same thing last night! I am going to search on Fleabay to see if I can get a "sample" as I won't be needing a large amount!!
