Good luck with that one
Seriously though, you would be proper mental, and I mean proper mental to go this route with your current car.
Forget, converSion and buy a better car.
Sounds harsh but unless your an MP on expenses there are cheaper, easier and less stressful routes to big BHP.

ok i understand what you saying and im all ears as i aint really clued on scoobs/conversions etc. (been driving VAG cars for years)
im just looking at my shell... its mint, no rust and solid. so surly a better engine box diffs etc is doable? brakes / lines etc i was going to uprate anyway ( i have uprated now for the t2000) but obviously brembos etc if im gonna get more bhp.
seriously, i dont want to sound like a pezza i just want pointing in the right direction. Mite have a few k to play with so i want to throw it at the car. dont want to do things over night but i dont see the point of going mad on a current 130,000mile t2000 lump with slight piston slap when cold, coz it will go bang!!
i could spend 3k maybe 4 k on a new "better" scoob but then ill have nothing to spend on getting bhp. (if that makes sence) i love my current scoob, it has leather and an aproreiate number plate for me and the car, and the cosmetic mods i have already made i dont see the point on doing it all again on another car as they all cost money!
what car do you lot think i should get to do all this, what reasons, and why cant it be done on my current scoob.
i genuinly would like to know, im not givin it in any way shape ot form, im asking for the SN know how please!

i would not worry about piston slap mate, it happens to most classic scoobs and there is many people on this forum who have had piston slap for many miles without any problems. As already said just make sure the car is regularly serviced, and get a modified oil pump and parallel fuel lines. Also insure the engine is nice and warm(oil temp not water!!) before giving it beans. As long as the car is looked after there is no reason for it to go on for many more miles.
