its a 53plate wrx. its got a large top mounted intercooler. chipped / remap, pannel filter. 1.2 / 1.3 bar boost. straight through exhaust ( de-cat pipe ) and up pipe to turbo.

i think that is it. i was looking to put a bigger turbo on, bigger injectors. ( possibly a cold air induction kit. but didnt know if that would make a difference. )

welcome to the club.

how long you had the scoob??

dont get carried away on engine mods, there are other ways to get got use out the car.

1: Geometry set-up and 4 wheel laser alignment
2: Suspension tweaks (bushes/Anti rolls bars/drop links etc
3: Driver training Day with Andy Walsh !!!

enjoy your car and come to a meet soon

Top advice Dazza, my car although nowhere near the BHP of the last one is a much better package thank's to the ARB's coilovers and geo set up.

Always nice to add a bit of ALS though mate

ive had it about 5 months.

the geo i can do at work. along with most other things.
i was looking to get a set of coilovers for it.
ive got some adjustable camber arms in the post.
i just got a new set of tyres from work. ( conti sport contact 3's ) not doing to bad with them.

the driver training thing i would love to go on a day for that, im only 21 so got lots to learn and put into practice.

Hi Jonny & welcome to the ESC.

I am running an 03 plate WRX with pretty much the same spec as you apart from the de-cat downpipe. Instead I have a Hayward & Scott 100 cell high flow down pipe (only 2 BHP loss over decat pipe & MOT friendly).

With my re-map I am getting 290bhp/275lb/ft @1.3 bar.

I was advised that any more than 300bhp would stress out the standard WRX bottom end & 5 speed box & reliability would be compromised. As has been said, better suspension, geometry & brakes will produce a car that can make better progress than a more powerful one that doesn't have these.

im more of a ford man being a ford technician. but i wondered why on the scooby clininc the power pckage for the wrx was 330bhp and the sti was 420. now i hazzard the guess to the sti engine being stronger.
i have not had mine rollin roaded yet. but i will do very soon. i would hope for 270 - 290 bhp. but time will tell.
i know a thing or two about gearboxes giving way. ive also got a fiesta rs turbo on my drive which i had before the scooby. that made 200bhp and i have a bloody gearbox init that cost me £20 and lasted me a year. and i put 3 boxes init in the time i had that car.

i dont real feel like replacing the gearbox on the scooby that often.
