Have heard there are quite a few reliability problems, one of the main ones being over heating. Though apparently the Vauxhall red top 16v engine slots straight in

OMG Paul, if you think the scooby is bad, even that one, then you've not even scratched the surface............

As you know my mate has the V8 twin turbo Esprit, have a chat with him about running costs

I know mate, I thought the vauxhall 16v conversion sounded pretty good, coupled with a Courtney turbo conversion

December's Classic Ford magazine is dedicated to Cosworths, from the early pre-crossflow, V8 F1 engines, BDA to YB. Makes a fascinating read mate

Cosworth have now released an all alloy YBA

YBA?

If you mean just an alloy YB 200 block then its been around a while. The Millington lump has also been around for years too.

sorry, yes, YB - The said article came across like the all alloy engine was new!

Oh well, you live and learn.

My other half keeps saying I should get a Cosworth, though she just likes the name, so I get what I want with a Mk2 and she'll be happy with the YB conversion as long as it's got a cosworth badge on the back

Lol
Just stick with a plain stg 3 YB based on a a T34 and a 200 block. Faster than 99% of impezas you'll ever see.

Bulletproof to boot
