Unhappy It's not looking good

Just taken the cam covers off and found the water pump pulley has sheared clean off

At the time when the engine died, I was doing 30, so could easily be looking at a completely funked engine (ie pistons crowns hitting the valve and bending them etc), so for the time being, might just get a water pump, use the old cam belt and try starting it, if I'm very very lucky, there's no internal damage, then I'll do a major service on it.

Thanks Nate, I think you're right! Usually I don't believe in superstition and the like, but it's been one thing after another, all little niggles!

It's definately going now - one way or another!! Moley - Don't read - might torch it an claim the insurance!! Seriously, I'll either sell the car if it runs again, or strip it and sell the parts.

Anyone want a Chargespeed body kit with a 22B front bumper in Dark Blue Mica?

Thanks Steve, I love the way the car looks, the bodykit, the graphics Wozzaa designed, but I begrudge spending anymore money on it now.

This definately starts the Mk2 Escort project

Paul its time to kiss that one goodbye. You've put so many hours in but you have to call time at some point.

Good luck with whatever you decide

Cheers fella.

I haven't spent anywhere near as much money on the car as Spally, but it's got to go.

Dal, have you got a fascia surround for a stereo?
I'm taking the ICE out so need single DIN replacement

I heard the National Debt spiralled inextricably on Spallys engine rebuild payments alone

sorry to hear that Paul. I thought it was just the lemons that i had working on the car previously that caused the issues, but does seem like the car is jinxed.

When it finally happens, would anyone be interested in a retro restoration/tuning thread? May even get Mocom involved in setting the suspension up

I'm buzzing now, can't wait

MY'99 mate

Worked it out that I should get around £2000 if I break the car and sell the parts.

Got a water pump coming, as soon as it's here, I'll fit it and take it from there

LMAO, I'm a vodka man, so you'll have a bit of a job to get me to sell them at that price mate

Not going to make any decisions until I find the extent of the damage, hoping it's just the pump thats gone, but that's wishful thinking!!

Getting really pi$$ed off now, feel like I'm being shafted left right and centre!!

Ordered a water pump from fleabay, and didn't turn up, 10 days later still nothing and the seller won't answer numerous emails, so went through Paypal resoultion, 3 days later, still no reply so I've escalated it to a claim!!

Bought another pump, and it's been a week so far, and guess what? they're not answering emails either!!! In 3 days time, it looks like another claim will be made!!!

I'm totally funked off now, did want to have the car MOT'd by now ready to sell!!!!!
