I can't believe it...
Sorry, it's a long one...
I picked the kids up Sunday evening from Pitsea about 7.30pm, and as I went up the sliproad on to the A13 towards Sadler's there was a rather nice looking Skyline in front of me it disappeared off in to the distance (as usually happens with my 'chavalier' ). When I got to Sadler's I caught up with it and we both went round towards the A130, me in the left lane, the Skyline in the right lane. As we came off the first little roundabout (the one that goes to the old A13) he decided to cut across in front of me and hit the front of my car!
He stopped and seemed genuinely apologetic, admitted it was his fault and just hadn't seen me. A police car pulled up (a bit of a bad place to be parked up!) asked if everything was ok and told us to move it along quickly. Anyway he gave me his name and mobile number and I said I'd contact him the next day. I took a pic of the damage to his and my car (piccys below) but stupid me didn't get the full reg number pretty sure it was an M reg though.
I sent him a message Monday morning saying I'd get a couple of quotes done then let him know what the damage was. He seemed fine, said he was getting some done too. Then suddenly I get a message from him saying that I should have given way to him ( err he cut across into my lane coming off a roundabout, why am I supposed to give way??) so he's been advised that he has a valid argument and that we can either fight it through insurance and both lose our no claims or call it knock for knock. so I asked him for his insurance details, he said it was Adrian Flux and to give his reg number. Obviously I didn't know the reg number so asked him to confirm the reg and his surname to which I received no reply! I thought I'd give him a little bit of time, so sent him another message this morning telling him that the damage was approx £250 and that I seemed a bit silly to go through insurance just for a couple of hundred quid so it was up to him. He must think I'm an idiot cos I got a message back saying 'Sorry fella i bought this phone off ebay yesterday' wow that was a short auction and a very quick delivery!
I told you this a long story... lol
I've done a bit of research on the guy, I know he only recently bought the Skyline after he sold a Scoob (an R reg MY98 P1 lookalike in Sonic Blue with full rally graphics), he's also recently sold a black Escort RS turbo (piccy below) and I know his name is Scott Russell, he used the name scottswrx to advertise the Scoob and RS on Pistonheads but hasn't made any posts on there.
Does anyone know him??? My insurance company have told me all they need is a phone number to start the claim but I would rather not put it through the insurance cos it's only £250! Although, it will hit him harder than it will me.
So I don't know what to think at the mo, I'm angry with myself for not getting the numberplate definitely a blonde moment (I'm not blonde by the way before anyone says anything...) but upset too cos although it's only a 'chavalier' and it really can be quite slow, it's my baby, the only car I've had and it got me through my test - poor car
I can't believe how anyone can be such a *insert expletive here* over something like this

@ the chavalier comment wonder where that is aimed.
Dont know the guy BUT will keep a look for it around home.
Also know a guy that would do a nice cheap repair for less i would think as MOST roundabout incidents tend to go 50/50

go the insurance way mate. can't see it going in his favour tbh. you can always withdraw the claim before the repair is carried out so you don't loose your no claims.
your insurance company should be able to advise you of your chances of it going 50 / 50 or against you.

I shouldn't think it would be too hard to find his skyline, especially as it's got a pretty unusual paint job. Would be great if you spot him though
I've just taken another couple of pics of my car as you can't see it very well in the dark, he took a slice off my wheel trim too

I was coming from tarpots KFC and went down the A130, I saw you parked up with the police car there and then the police car followed me to Rayleigh!!
I didn't know it was you or I would have stopped. I hope you get it sorted out soon.

Go to DVLA site
and download the V888 Doc as in link at bottom of page
This document is for getting info on a vehicle........i.e after an accident,I needed one recently as I sold a Vectra I had and forgot to cancel Insurance and so to get my back my money I needed to apply to DVLA with this form and £5 to get the info oin when it was transferred........So use the plate off the Escort (A19 RSX ) and explain that this Scott guy owned it and recently sold it and hit you in his new car and you need contact details...Address etc for Insurance.....Or go to local Police station and tell them what has happened and they MAY look up info on the PNC for you !
Also if Police stopped...surely they took plates down......??
Good luck Dan

Brilliant idea about the V888 although I wonder if it would've been in his name or not because he didn't have it for long:
I HAVE TAKEN THIS IN A DEAL WITH ANOTHER CAR AN AS I NEED THE MONEY ITS GOING STRAIGHT UP FOR SALE

I'll save you a trip to the Police Station. Even if they were to PNC it for you, they would not give any details.
I suggest you give the old index to your insurance company. They'll be able to trace it back through their own database using the index shown on the RST and contact him that way.
FWIW, the RST is currently in Northamptonshire

I'm sure exactly what colour, but it was very dark, don't think it was quite black, it had sparkly bits in it though. This is the pic I took of the damage to his car: (I feel sooooo stupid for not getting the number plate ) I was quite surprised at the 'normal' wheels though... a bit boring lol

LOL - keep us posted if you find him on there. Some time back there was a woman who knocked someone from snet via e-bay - LMFAO - she was tracked down and within a couple fo days there were pictures of her and her sisters & friends etc - then it was found out that she was renting out a room in her flat - it got rather "involved" LOL - but all the info was publically available. Maybe the electoral register
