Anyone want a cheap laptop
I have put my laptop on ebay
It is 1 month old, selling due to Three NOT giving me the correct speed that i need, states on their website that they have 2.7 in my area, but only getting 0.02
Anyone want to bid, or make an offer here?

Was rather thinking you could Pm me an offer, as that is what i am looking for.
already turned down 3 offers on feebay, one from a muppet from bulgaria, listing does say that its UK only, but thay still get through somehow.
Anyway, offers turned down so far are £50 - £100 and £110
Take a look on feebay and see other listings of same laptop, all over £350, so i think offers a little below that are reasonable.

I've got three mobile broadband too and can vouch for that, it's rubbish, I'm getting 240kbps at the mo (half the speed of dial up). unfortunately there's no cable around here (I used to have virgin's 20mb at the old place ) and I'm too far away from the exchange for normal broadband so I've not got much choice other than moving!!

Reason i am selling is due to broadband speed is crap (three are rubbish) and i have got a new laptop from vodafone and speed is 100% better.
The laptops on ebay are going for OVER £350, take a look and see for yourself, dont know where you get £80 from?
If you see them all day on ebay for £130 tops, then please buy as many as you can (if they are NEW like mine) and let me know, i will give £175 for as many as you can get.
No i would not like to swap for anything other than cash, it works much better when i pay for things.
[QUOTE][It's even possible that it's the 3g coverage on his phone/QUOTE]
Not the phone, as its the thingie you plug into laptop that is at fault, only getting 78kbps when they are offering over 4mb

a few calulations for u
Dial up = 56kbs max.
you say u get half the speed of broadband @ 240kbs
if you have the following downloads speeds plz take into consideration that this is what you are getting "roughly"
half meg broadband = 512 kbs
1 mb broadband = 1000 kbs
plz note: bs = bites per second and kbs = killobites per second.
1 b = 1 carracter on your keyboard eg. a
1 killobites = 100 a's
1 megabite = 1000 a's
im not her to prove anyone wrong, just stating what people don't understand what there speed means
so 240 kbs is 5x faster....than 56k. still not fast though.......

IIRC
56k is 56 kilobits per second and there are 8 bits in a byte (one character)
therefore you divide the (56x1024) by eight to give you the approx number of actual characters downloaded.
same with 2mb its 2048x1024 /8
just thought i'd let you all know

Personally, for that value, I would not want to be in a situation where I would wend the item off, as you my find that when they receive it, there could be monies being claimed back via Paypal.
Check out bidder 9 ........ 'No Longer Registered With Ebay'
I hope I'm wrong, but I would proceed with caution.

Are the specs correct? as the lappys given away by 3 are not normally that good. There are a wide range of HP 550 specs.
Hope it works out for you Pezza but it dont look great.
