SPECS CAMERAS
Do the ones on the M25 not work or something? I went through them the other day at 50mph as per the speed limit and there were cars screaming past at at least 80mph if not more
#3
On another forum think it was Supra one? or possibly another someone who worked on that project stated they were set to 82mph to trigger any sort of warning. Still I wouldn't chance it, I know they didn't go active at all for a while as they had to test them for 6 months first.
End of the day only adds 2-5 minutes to your journey it's not a huge stretch.

The ones screaming past are prob the ones which are nicked/not registered to the driver/or have someone elses number plate on them!! ... or don't have a licence so makes no odds if they get it revoked again!

OK, lets say I'm 3/4 of the way through the specs section and I get caught in a traffic jam where I am stationary for 20 mins. Can I then blast through the last camera at 139mph* or is it not JUST an average speed detector but also a normal speed camera?
* in theory

The guy who dropped my car off after some bodywork (thanks Mr white van man with no brakes!) said that on motorways 3 lanes or more wide, the cameras can only track two lanes each.
Therefore entering the cameras in lane 1, then pulling out to lane 3 for the second camera makes you dissapear from camera 1 to camera 2 and they aren't linked together.
Makes sense when you think about it, but am not going to test his theory!

I had a worried 14 day wait after, I had a little play on the M1 a while ago, another scoob next to me doing 50MPH, we thought we had gone past the last one, and went for it, ***MPH+ and then saw the last camera.
Maybe just lucky or maybe not.

well on 2 Andy Walsh days I was quicker on the first and you were quicker on the 2nd (both by just a few tenths).
One things for sure - you won't outbreak me into a corner (although you may be the only person to come round the other side )

And if I remember correctly on day one you had a far superior power to weight, and on day 2 it was even power and the gap was bigger, so own conclusions can be drawn.
We have never driven identical cars at the same time, so the late braking issue will have to be resolved another time.

The three on the A12 at Kelvedon, London bound are set exactly at the speed limit and are not ticket issuing!! I had the bad habit of using my scatnav`s speedo and not the vans, the other morning my reg was flashed up on the matrix board....sh*t myself, checked the scatnav....doing 70mph....looked at the vans speedo and I was doing 73mph
So I rang Stanway traffic and the kind lady explained that the cameras were there to warn/reduce speeds at the approaching bend and they did not give tickets but suggested that vehicle makers make their speedos slightly out (slower ) so as to ensure that they don`t get sued from unsuspecting speeding motorists. She then said that you shouldn`t rely on the scatnav for a speedo, as the only accurate speedo is a calibrated one!!
Lesson to learn....DON`T USE SCATNAVS IN AVERAGE SPEED AREAS...USE YOUR VEHICLES SPEEDO.

Just been to New Milton and back today, via M25 and M27, where there are average speed checks. I can`t get over the amount of people who use them for overtaking purposes
Also can`t get over the amount of people who drive nice expensive cars but can`t afford a handsfree or can`t use the earpiece that comes with most phones ....maybe they should use the helicopter to catch them instead!!!

Day 2 - the real difference was that I followed Andy's advice, and for the final two timed runs you were so determined to beat me, you tried too hard and thought you knew best!
