Today I must have won the complete knobber of the Day prize!
Working at a local equestrian center, parked out side the house, went in had a coffee, came out a few mins later, sh#t where's the van!, looked down the yard and there it was?
I clearly had not fully engaged the handbrake, and it had gently rolled down the yard, first hitting a forward facing horsebox, then pushing that backwards into a purpose built Granny annexe.
The tow hitch has gone through the vans bumper, and sheered off the power steering pump and possibly burst the oil and water rads. (being stripped as I type so will know the full extent of the damage shortly)
Amazingly the horsebox appears undamaged, but where it hit the Granny annexe the inside walls are all cracked, so need to have this structurally examined to see what needs to be done to rectify this?
Ho, Hum, what a cr#p day

OMG! Don't totally blame yourself Neil, the handbrake on mine doesn't always seem to grab completely, and it's parked directly opposite the Scoob on a slight slope. (think I'll just go and stick it in gear)

Have a had the van checked over and repaired today, apart from the damage to the bumper, it is nowhere near as bad as I thought, the broken boss I could see turned out to be a detachable bracket rather than the block! and amazingly the power steering pump is OK.
Also having now calmly looked at the building, i'm sure it is ok, just need to hack off the internal plaster and redo + paint, plus change a section of guttering.
Altogether a bit of a let off really, well compared to what it could have been.

Cheers Brian, easy mistake to make, thought I had done it, and barely a gradient, but there you go.

Bit of a thread ressurection, but....
Had a letter from Renault yesterday entitled "Urgent Safety Recall" !!!
For what? "Handbrake Function" it goes on to say....
"We have identified a possibility of an unexpected release of the handbrake mechanism which can cause the vehicle to move whilst unattended"
Not sure if you've received a copy or not, Neil, but could be worth a claim if your incident cost you anything.

You'd know if you have received the letter, it came recorded delivery.
