Now ..... I Don't know one Ferrari from another, BUT .....
I just saw a LOVELY one, an oldie as well, reg. MUF xxxF.
It was Red () and I saw the prancing horse on the rear, it had finned rear quarters, and the shape was what I would describe as 'Le Mans' style ...... Oohh and it had a White circle on the bonnet.
Lovely looking motor, and was up for a play as well

i doubt you saw a P5 as it was never actually put into production ... it may possibly have been a P4 (check google images) however it is most probably a replica as if it was authentic there is no way it would be out on the roads as it is worth £millions.
I know there is a replica banging around in the westcliff/chalkwell areas. it may have been that one.
Still looks nice though

Yep, I guessed if it were the real thing, it would have been worth quite a few sheckles.
But never seen anything that shape with a Ferrari badge on it before, it was (as it happens) coming from your neck of the woods, I was following it along Bournes Green Chase and then up Royal Artillery Way.
The front didn't look quite the same as the P5 and the rear actually looked nicer (not so busy with all the fins) .
Looked a lovely motor.

Just looked the P4 up, as you suggested :-
P5 :-
Now the rear was more flush, as I said, like the P4, BUT the fins on the rear quarters had the same depth as the P5. The windows were the same as the P4, sliders, whereas the P5 doesn't appear to have opening windows.
That makes me think that a kit car it was.

to be fair, some classics have had so much work done
that they are all new anyhow
thus making them a modern car
and some replicas are so good they are an improvement on the original
if it floats your boat then have it
i would love an AC427 cobra replica
budgie

Same here mate, I priced up building a Dax Tojeiro a few years back and the price of the chrome bumpers and all the brightwork to make it look the part costs a small fortune!
I also had a look at the Pilgrim Sumo replicas though nowhere near as good looking as the Dax, and Pilgrim's customer services left a lot to be desired, mind you that was 5 years ago!
Was talking to WRX_Dazza the other day, would love to build one of these:
Adrenaline Motor Sport. Creators of Subaru Imprezza based sportscars
Subaru running gear, 950kgs, looks great and a real crap name - Murtaya! but who cares with the potential grin factor!
