Default Engine cleaner

My Scoob engine bay desperately needs a good clean, and seeing as the old detailer 2 pack isn't available anymore, does anyone have any suggestions? I've tried Gunk, but it's not that good, and made more of a mess

I'm putting the Scoob back on the road this week. As it hasnt been used, the battery is flat, and got to get a jerry can from work to get some 99RON as there's not enough petrol to get to Tesco's.

Fun and Games

Matt gave me some great stuff...

think it was Mothers multi-purpose cleaner, or something.

you water the stuff down and spray it on / wipe of... simple as...

give him a shout, he's Prob got some in stock.

or you can have some of mine to try.

Get some Megs Super Degreaser, mix down to a 4:1 ratio (4 parts water) and spray over the engine after hosing down.

Let it soak, rinse and re-apply and agitate with toothbrush for stubborn bits. Rinse again and let it dry.

Do all this with the engine running.

Then dress the bay with whatever you normally use for plastics, metal and paint.

Or... PM the resident detailing expert, Matt Neame and ask for him to spare an hour or so to come and do it for you .

Yup megs super degreaser. None in at the moment but am placing an order today. can get you some. It's about £17 a gallon but can be watered down to make 4 gallons of the stuff. I use it on wheels and exhausts as well.

Quality mate, noticed quite a few more bolts missing now, oh well, good excuse to put stainless steel ones in their place

Steve, didn't realise you were that close!!, it's just a case of going back on Aspen way/ W.India dock road, then onto the A13 for a mile or so
