Question Technical Gearbox Question....

Having a few issues with the wagon's box.

Can anybody tell me,

Do I need to find an exact match for the transmission code?

Or is there a certain amount of flexibility without having to change diffs etc?

Current one is a TY754VN1AA can't find one anywhere but a few TY754*****'s about.

Thanks in advance

Brian

Had the oil drained and changed twice now, and got loads of metal fragments each time. horrible whine in 1st (sounds like an old Land Rover) also whines when revved in neutral. Occasional trouble getting into 3rd and reverse.

Apart from that it's fine.

Isn't it cheaper to keep the casing and just replace the internals?

You could also give Newood Transmissions a call on (01702) 392525, they are very very well respected transmission specialist that are based behind The Bell pub on the A127.

I have had them do work on different vehicles of mine in the past, and they are always happy to help.

Thanks, but trying to not have the car off the road for too long, so thought stick a newer gearbox on (if feasable) and get the old one fixed then sell it on.

I believe that Newood are usually fairly quick on turnaround as their base is not the largest, so they like to get them in and out fairly rapido
