Its Pancake Day - what are YOU going to give up?
Amazingly early this year - but today is shrove tuesday!
I learnt a few years back, that the "point" of pancake day is to eat all the sugary stuff in the house with the pancakes then give them up for "lent". Obviously this is to last until Easter - I think that may be why we're all given chocolate eggs
Anyway, for all those dieters amongst us - Gooner gave up sugar for Lent a few years back and lost nion 2 stone!
So - WHAT WILL YOU GIVE UP? It can be anything? Smoking, Chocolate, Sex (PMSL), Alcohol. Who's up for a challenge??

the point of shrove tuesday is Jesus went into the desert for 40 days and nights, fasting and praying to reflect on mankind sins.
Shrove tuesday is to use up all the "rich" foods in the house, because the following day, Ash Wednesday, only plain food are allowed to be eaten for 40 days. The act of this fasting means that you want absolution for your sins
Oops, ****, bu66er and eternal damnation, I sound like a bible basher now!!

LOL, I'm not religious, never have been and therefore don't seek absolution for my sins - however, think its still a good idea to give something up for lent. And I think my description was far better LMAO
Not sure what I'll give up though - it seems a LONG way off till easter - don't think I could go that long without chocolate

I was thinking that yesterday.... the in-laws have done away and lent me their 1.2 KA for 4 months.....
I haven't driven the Scooby for nearly 2 weeks!!!!!!
If only it did 140 mph and and had slightly tweeked handling, it would be perfect....
Ultimate sleeper lol
