Wanted - 1/10 RC Subaru Impreza
At the risk of bringing the whole RC thing back to life,
Does anyone have a Tamiya 1/10 RC Impreza RC Car or similar, they no longer need?
Simon wants to try one of these, and as you guys bought up just about every spare RC car in Essex last year, I wondered if there were an surplus ones out there. Probably needs to be electric, rather than Nitro as it may be used indoors as well as out, plus nitro may be a bit much for him (12 yrs old).
Ideally would want a complete, ready to go kit.
Cheers
Neil

If its Tamiya youre after mate i say just to buy new. They're very affordable for a full kit now and ebay is a great for good prices.
The other advantage of buying new is that he will be able to build it himself. This will give him a much better understanding of how and why his car works the way it does. Also it will inevitably break at some point, so he will be able to diagnose problems much easier.
Id say 12 was a great age, i built my first Tamiya at about the age of 10 (Grasshopper 2 Super G)
A full kit inc radio should set you back about £120 or so.
If he ever needed a hand then id be happy to help.

A quick ebay search shows £65 for a full basic radio kit inc battery, charger and an ESC (Electronic speed control)
NEW Radio, ESC, Battery & Charger for Tamiya RC Kits on eBay, also Car Parts Accessories, Cars, Radio-Controlled, Toys Games (end time 06-Feb-08 13:53:40 GMT)
Kit prices vary but are around £50 to £80 depending on the model. Search for (Tamiya TT-01 kit) TT-01 refers to the chassis used.
Anything else i an help with, just ask.
