"Bibo's London Marathon Blog "- Please Sponsor me
I'm afraid it's that time again where I'm asking for some classic (and newage lol) ESC spirit...
I'm running in next years Flora London Marathon 13th April 2008 and the chosen charity I have decided to support is Heart UK (The cholesterol Charity)
You may not know but my family has a history of Heart Disease and there have been times when I've thought that those close to me may not be here forever...
Familial Hypercholesterolaemia is an inherited condition that can if undetected/treated can kill as young as in your 20's.
My family are relatively lucky and now only have to suffer the joy of an angiogram regularly – not a particularly pleasant experience !!!!
So please help me support teams like Heart UK as they really do make a difference.
Please take a moment to sponsor me. It's really easy - you can donate online by credit or debit card at the following address:
Justgiving - Ian Brazier's Fundraising Page
All donations are secure and sent electronically to HEART UK. If you are a UK taxpayer, Justgiving will automatically reclaim 28% Gift Aid on your behalf, so your donation is worth even more. Please join me in supporting HEART UK and a fabulous cause.
I plan to organise lot's of events in the next couple of months to try and meet my target.... I'm open to any ideas is I will do anything!!!!
Current ideas as well as the usual charity raffles, car washes etc. include my own Tunnel Run This will be similar to my running on foot of the Posers Cruise!
Thanks for the support and I'll post more details of events when i have them.
Bibo (Ian)
P.S. obviously the Essex Air Ambulance is the charity of choice... but please dig deeper

Cheers guys and gals......
Along way to go, but this is a really good cause....
As I've said, I feel so strongly about this, I will do ANYTHING for peole to sponsor me!!!! So if you need a pair of hands to do anything, let me know!!!!
Ms Gooner.... tell Mr Gooner that he's gonna have to put his hand in his pocket some more, because you will be running a marathon
Loopy, I could have run for any charity, but this isn't just another general appeal for me.... As you know, this is a terrible thing to live with and the worst thing is the not knowing who may inherit it.... This is the least I could do....
I'm doing the easy bit, lol (well kind of!!!!!)
Please everyone, take the time to hit the link and make a pledge.

Sunday 21 October 2007
After a weeks training that saw me run a 5 mile race Thursday and get PB (personal best)!!! 40'07 mins. Not bad considering the course is half on road and half off road with some sneaky slopes!!!!!
Anyway back to today... Last night was spent waking up every hour as Katie wasn't well... can't complain as Mrs BB normally does this, but she took a well deserved trip out for the night. I ended sleeping on the floor in Katies room.
I'm getting ready for a run to Danbury later today. Sunday is when I do my long run of the week. This run should be around 10-15 miles with some hills thrown in!
Anyway, will let you know how I get on later.

Sunday 21 October 2007 continued....
Well just got back from my jog..... a slow run from Chelmsford to Danbury and then some hill rep. laps around the hills on the various commons and then home.
Took a bit longer than I thought.... approx. 13 miles in 2 hrs but not bad considering the terrain I guess. Should be able to smash that on flat road (I hope).
Talking of 2 hrs.... your mind starts to consider very strange things when your plodding along trying not to fall over or get knocked over by horse riders. Apart from the normal things like "what are we going to have for dinner", I found myself thinking strange thoughts like "is Tinys car really going to have Carlos Fandango wheels?"
Anyway it wasn't that bad but one lesson learnt.... wearing extra short running shorts and chilly mornings equals bleeding inner thighs after 2 hrs of friction burns!!!!
Remember kids.... Sport hurts!

Great idea this may've been - taking it easy this was not LMAO. My "blogs" will not be anywhere near as professional as Ian's I'm afraid - comical maybe though, however, maybe it'll give people an insight as to how hard running a marathon would be!
I did better than I thought though - however, after the initial shock of my body reminding me that I was not born to run - I felt like I was going to faint, kinda like I'd had a bottle of vodka - but alot cheaper LMAO.
But on the up side - it's all in a good cause. wouldn't like to estimate how far I run possibly 3/4 a mile - so I'm a way off yet!
Good on ya Ian for your stint today - but at least I avoided the chaffing LMAO

Well done Ms Gooner....
Trust me you've just taken the hardest step you'll take!
Just keep going.... BTW.... one thing I'm not sure if you know or not, please make sure you stretch you legs for around 10 seconds before you start, then 30 seconds at the end...
If you don't do this you'll be walking like John Wayne tomorrow!
Anyway, well done and please support Ms Gooner
