Default Life just gets better.

Well as some of you know, i was off SICK/STRESSED back in june/july,
Royal Mail have SACKED me this morning. on grounds of a Bad sick record.

They have been kind thou, & are letting me work 12 weeks Notice.

I can/am appealing against this deceision.
So after xmas everyone, i may well be a little bit SKINT.

Well thats the bad things happen in 3's they all talk about.

1. got mugged on holiday
2. home from holiday to find car vandalised
3. been sacked from job.

Seem's a bit extreme Baz surely they have to give you verbal and written warning's first?
Sorry to hear about your run of bad luck let's hope there are better thing's on the horizen for you

Ms Gooner knows a bit of employment law - and basically she's saying that if you are signed off from a doctor (not sure if you were though?), at the time they can, she thinks, cut your pay to SSP, but they can't - she feels sack you unless formally warning you, both verbally and in writing first.

O.K as a few people know postmen/women & know how they work,
after coming back from my sick,
i was given a verbal telling off & was asked to see an OCUPATIONAL HEATH PERSON
3 months passed & she phoned me yesterday..
asking how i was!!!
then she said as i was back @ work & able to speak to her on the phone i must be A O.K !!!
the top bod, got her writen letter (of the conversation) and came to hios decission to let me go, as i (acording to the OH PERSON) had no reason to be off sick!!!

YES everytime im off sick i DO GET A DOCTORS NOTE.

From what you are saying mate, sounds like they haven't done their bit as an employer and an employment tribunal would should overturn that if it came to it. Dont know if the stress was work related, but if it was that is even more to throw at them.
