How weird is that, i have been looking at the same and was thinking of posting a similar question.

They have some quite good "hosting packages" which i am tempted by.

What day are people thinking of going and will it be a group outing ?

The Saturday looks quite good ?

Mark (RB5 286) - What Hotel are you booked into (ie web site etc) and are you doing it alone or part of a group. Also did you take any of the hospitality packages etc.

Spec'C'57 - How was the SIDC VIP arranged ?

Are we going to arrange this as an ESC outing so there is a group of us ? That way if there is suitable numbers we may be able to get a group discount etc if people are looking at going for 2 nights.

Hotel Mercure The Lodge Cardiff: book your Mercure hotel in CARDIFF

This is the hotel that we are staying in for the Friday and Saturday night.

Need to catch a bus or train to Swansea for the start on Saturday but finishes in Cardiff on the Saturday and Sunday where the hotel is

Nope its not head to head. well wasn't last year... 1 car timed for 2 laps IIRC...

Tissy it was a prize from Scooby Ball last year... It CAN be sorted tho.... Think Pete warburton is the sidc/swrt liason...

There are a couple of options for me Matt which i am still considering.

Personally i would like to go to the evening stage at the Millenium Stadium.

Then there is obvioulsy a choice of tickets and packages available. Its a toss up between the £30 Gold ticket and this package:

Rally Club Package - Saturday 1st December (£99 + VAT)
  • Private dining facility
  • Premier gold seat
  • Pre – Rally video entertainment
  • Hot buffet
  • Use of private bar facilities
  • Guest speaker - Rally GB Winner 1993 and 1997, Nicky Grist
  • Hostess service throughout evening
Then there is the hotel and how we get there. Do people normally drive or fly (as this is pretty cheap nowadays for an internal flight) ?

It will be my wife and I going and having never been on a WRC stage before, want to make a do of it !! The other option of course if there are a few of us is to see what they can do for groups.

Decisions decisions .

What do you and other people want to do ?

The package looks good. i was thinking of the evening stage and perhaps a sunday morning stage.

Would be good if we could get a group discount.

I'd probably drive up tbh, although as you say flights are pretty cheap now.

Will you only be going to see the Special Stage?

If you planning to see any of the other stages then you will defo need a car!

To be honest to be a Subaru driving around wales when the rally is on has a pretty good feeling to it.
Especially when we drove to one of the stages and villagers were standing outside their houses waving to us as we drove through (which IIRC was early morning!)

How nice a hotel ?? Cardiff has the Hilton 5 Star available at £180 a night for a suite. I'm tempted, be nice if there was some else staying at the same hotel. If not there is the 4 star Marriot. Both in Cardiff.

I'm sure if it was the wifes choice it would be the Hilton as its her Birthday but If the Marriot is nice I'm sure that would do.

Would be a giggle if there was a few of us in the hotel like ya said.
