Scooby owners
This is unreal, for every scooby owner that sells their car, there must be at least 3 new owners popping up!!
For all the Newbies, I wish you all the best. The people in the ESC are a great bunch, and you will enjoy the Jap scene.
If there is one thing I do miss, is driving in convoy to shows. Just being amongst so many like minded people is a real buzz.
It could be said that the ESC is losing it's personal touch with so many members now, but a club is only as good as it's members. There WILL be many cliques now, there's no oddsing it but it needs EVERYONE to make an effort, new or old members, everyone was in the same boat once.
Newbies - make the effort to make yourself known, your experience of the club will be more enjoyable, there are many people who will gladly offer you advice about your car
Oldies - Make the effort to welcome the newbies, in a nut shell, it's down to you to help with the continuing success of the club.
It's now a common joke that Imprezas are the new XR3i's but I personally think that this is down to the success of the Impreza, it's a great car straight from the factory, and can easily be made better with a few subtle mods.
In some respects, I don't miss the Scoob, whether or not it's because I'm buzzing with the new bike, or it was my time to move on, time will tell.
What I do miss, is the burble of the exhaust, the noise as you drove up by the drywall next to St Margaret's church in Stanford, or through tunnels is almost unbeatable, only straight 6's or V8 engines sound better.
My daughter (8) can distinguish a scooby a mile off, long before it comes into view, my scoob has gone 2 months ago, and she still nags me that I shouldn't of sold it!
In the imortal words of Sega:
We all play games, lets play together
