Default What fuel consumption R U getting???

I've just had a 445 mile run to Rochdale and back in my STI and just worked out the fuel consumption figures and pleased to discover overall I did 28.19mpg.

First "proper" long trip I've been able to do since I got the STI, so was intersted in what it did and made a note of all the conditions for future reference.

Trip was done at 3½k revs for 90% of the way in 6th, with an occasional jump to 4K revs for overtaking when needed - never went over 4K (too many cameras, too much traffic) - tried to keep it off too much boost whenever overtaking to help the consumption - temperatures around the 21-23 degress for most of the trip. Roads were dry yesterday all the way, bucketing down this morning, but then dry from Sheffield back down to Essex.

Made me wonder what others get in the club - would be interesting to have a sort of list for comparison.

In my WRX I get 24mpg week in-week out. On a long trip the most I've had is 280 miles out of a tank.

I dont care

4 mpg on track
12mpg during a mapping session
About 180 to a tank on the plod.

800cc injectors and 5.5bar of fuel pressure to thank for that

I tend to get 27 mpg from my remapped WRX with my weekly routine , on a run I can squeeze 30 out of it on a good day , so I reckon your figures from an STI are quite good (even if it's not the most fun you've ever had behid the wheel)

I guess the gearing is quite low on the RA then - 3½k rpm on my STI in 6th is 84-85mph.

If you use Vpower it can be hard to find down there as there aren't many Shell garages about, so you might have to resort to BP or Esso 97 ron ( Tesco's only seem to do 97Ron too). My parents live down there so I go through this dilema quite often.

yup you could say that. it's still limited to 112mph but i'd think that it'll top out at about 120 anyway.
