Legal, Free Music Download Site.....
Not sure if anyone else knows about this site...Free Music Downloads - Music Promotion - We7
It's backed by Peter Gabriel and seems to be completely safe.
It's only just starting up, so there are no really big names on there yet, but I have found some absolute gems by the artists that have signed up, so far. If you're into rock/metal then "Celesty","Vanishing Point" and "5 bugs" are definately worth checking out.
All tracks can be previewed before downloading.
It's not "File Sharing" just downloading.
And the only catch is that each track has a short advert at the start (10 sec max) which is easily skipped in i-tunes.
I know it's not an event, but thought I would share the info.
