POLICE INTERCEPTION - Basildon
the Mrs has just been pulled over on Broadmayne, Basildon, after going through a police interception team that were parked at the roundabout by Gloucester Park!!!
Made her pull over opposite the fire station on the duel carriageway with kids in the car - all for her number plate!!!! Its not big enough!
The Met's funds must be low this month - or maybe their just not on target for time wasting!!! Gave her a £30 fine - she even explained that its usually in the window (its on the floor), but apparently its not legal to display it in the window either!
He also mentioned the exhaust!!!! Was gonna give her a ticket because it was too loud!!!! (Full De-cat ) Apparently "the law states....." that when a car has a modified exhaust it needs a silencer still or else its above the permitted noise level!!!!
So just be aware - to avoid the basildon Police interception team! Keep your exhausts quiet and get your number plates sorted to the legal size and mess up the look of you FMI's!!!

i was behind a police evo yesterday. had anpr interception team / unit on it. i want that job. driving round in one of those all day
Was driving like a good boy and number plates are full size on mine. have learnt the hard way before. not worth the hassle of smaller plates anymore imo.

i cant for the life of me understand why anybody would change the spacing or not display plates. If my car was stolen and there was a chance of a patrol car with anpr picking it up it would be better not to do it in the first place. Just my view.

Might have to put my full size plate on mine
Just to keep Tissy and his work mates happy as they seem to be targeting number plates at the moment.

there is some road traffic act or law / something from the dvla that has a section 14a. this states that imported vehicles can have smaller plates because of the recess in the bumper being too small to accept uk size plates. not a problem for impreza's though i'm afraid. they take uk size plates. will depend on the office that pulls you over.
sure someone will be along in a mo with the full title of the document that i'm refering to.

I've heard its true. All marked vehicles will have tax discs as it wouldn't look good if they didn't, but if you look carefully it shows them at 'Nil' cost. Likewise they don't need mot's, but they'll always have them to be on the safe side

o that explains it, the police were to buys pulling people over for small number plates and loud exhausts to stop the house next door from being burgled,,,
bunch of tossers, and they wonder y people don't like police, not even sure if the gestapo were that bad?

Or perhaps with the Intercept Team working, an ANPR operation may have been on the go looking for stolen cars, such as Scoobies

tbh mate i'm not overly concerned (and i kinda guessed that from the post above), police have got more important crimes to be worrying about, 99% of the population agree with me, they are just going after easy targets so they can get good crime reduction figures and make abit of cash.
90% of the burgleries in nottingham go unsolved, yes 90% unsolved, and they worry about stupid things like that? come on, get your priorities right.
