no boost
FUMING!!!!
Looked forward for ages to having my FMI fitted. Mrs took it to the garage - had the FMI alongwith a new Turbo (VF28) and a bailey dump valve (as my existing one was a bolt on).
Mrs collected from garage today - parting with my hard earnt cash - she's been driving about in it with the kids - so obviously hasn't given it loads!
Eventually got to drive my baby - and now I want to cry - and kill!!!!
NO BOOST!!!!!!!!
Revs fine, as soon as you select gear and pull away hard, gets to 3k and constantly pulls back.
I've waited for the last few weeks to get this work done - due to go on the ESC meet to Southend tomorrow - and I'm furious! Not even sure if the garage is gonna be open tomorrow???
can anyone help me??

They never even mentioned it! I had approached them saying that i was looking for 300+bhp - they told me I could get that with a FMI and fuel pump - however, then they realised it was a UK spec so advised me to upgrade the turbo alongwith the FMI first and maybe then have the fuel pump. I had originally said about re-map but they said that doing all the mods would get me more bhp!
Obviously "they new best!!" so I went with what they said.

Youve had a touch there mate having no boost. If it did have any you'd be looking at the dirty end of a conrod a probably a nice melted piston by now.
Id take it back to the garage.... who clearly are a bunch of monkeys and dont know their piston ring from their **** ring. Tell em that youre not happy..
Then take it to a scooby specialist.
Shame that as youve obviously given it to them in good faith and paid good money. Take it to someone who knows and have piece of mind your car will come back the way it should.

Oh dear.....
I think I know your car as well..... (v.nice) Blue Bug....
I'm surprised "they" didn't meantion about remapping, especially as you have a mappable ECU std.
Wild guess..... maybe they reduced the boast until you got it remapped? Re. it not over boosting (avoid driving atm!)
Pop in today and explain the situation. What you've paid for is the labour to have to parts fitted. As everybody has said, you WILL need it mapped.

No Boost - fixed!!!!
All that stressing and the FMI pipes weren't connected properly it seems. So once everything had been tightened and checked - car seems to be running sweet!
Special thanks to Wozza and Paul who assisted me today - see you on the Cruise later hopefully.
And if anyone knows where I can get it re-mapped - let me know!
Thanks all
