New WRX's down in price
Don't suppose anyone on here is going to actually buy a brand new new Scooby, but for what it's worth, I've just seen an advert from a Subaru dealer that quoted "From May 30th Subaru UK have drastically reduced the price of the outgoing Impreza WRX. We have secured most variants and colours but with prices starting at £16,495 on the road for full UK Imprea WRX we expect the stock to move quickly"
Could it be that they are trying to shift all the unsold stock before the new "2008 Mazda lookalike... oops - Scooby model" comes in?
Anyone smell the panic in the Subaru Sales Divison........ ???

Spec C personally
But then for new-comers who don't want something as raw as the Spec C and just want a pretty quick and good handling 4-door saloon, you could do a lot worse than a WRX.

If you buy cars new you resign yourself to the fact that in about a year it's worth half and then when you sell it you make a big loss. If you worry about things like that then you can't afford it in the first place so should steer clear. I've always bought new and I don't feel in the least bit annoyed by what Subaru are doing. I'll take a hit at the end of the year when I pick up my new Coupe STi but I couldn't really care less because I knew the hit was coming from the second I transferred the cash across to the dealer for my current car.
Tis a fact of life.

It's a great price ... it will mean more people can afford a new Subaru Impreza and enjoy the benefits of a warranty and having a car that nobody else has finished with. Also it will mean more Subaru's on the road and that is a very good thing.

So you have ordered one then?
Snet opinion is that its a Ugly Mistake
I think Prodrive are more interested in its Rally Potential

The necessary elements have been put into place.
Snet ... hmmm now are these the same people that slated the P1 and the WR1 and said that they were a mistake??? Lol ... think i'll be not worrying about the scoobynet opinion. The problem with this site is that it's developed an ego which it feels IM should take heed of ... just because it has 50,000 or so members. Whatever!!!
Subaru have been in direct competition with Mitsubishi over the years and lets face it have lost in every single department. Evo6 - awesome, Turbo 2000 - not so awesome. Tommi Mac edition/Extreme Edition - mental. P1 and WR1 - tame in comparision. FQ400 - performance pinacle and a simply breath taking drive. Subaru's response .... nothing!!
So I think for IM to now essentially branch off and develop a completely new chassis and look which take the Subaru marque away from direct competition with Mitsi is bold ... and I like companies which take risks like that. No doubt it's a love/hate look but for me personally I am not buying for what it looks like - I'm buying for the drive train and the new driving sensation compared to what i've had in the past.
Admittedly my car will be a little bit different to others but that's just me personalising to my liking - and ignoring what it does the the boring boring boring boring boring boring issue of residual values and all that other financial **** which everyone about on here all the time

Hear what you are saying my little blue friend
and tend to agree
I must admit I think it is a mistake not bringing us the Booted version even though I would still go for the Coupe

It would be interesting to see how many new cars IM sold to members of scoobynet last year because for some funny reason people on here seem to think that their opinions matter and that because they think the car looks 'horrible' it means the end for Subaru and the company will go into administration or something drastic like that.
PMSL! I know one market that will go crazy for this new look ... Japan!! And to be honest that is all that matters!
