Anyone "clued up" on R33 GTR's?
Hello my fellow ESCers.....
Quick question....as above and would yo have a spare couple of hours this Saturday or Sunday?
I'm going to look at a couple of R33 GTR V-Spec's and even though i've asked on the gtr owners site and have the buyers guide, I still don't have a scooby...(well I do but i'm selling it.... )
I'll do all the driving, running about, free lunch the lot....
I'm not a mass murderer or anything.....just don't want to make a mistake....
(apart from the main mistake of going from scoob to skyline......
many many thanks
TOG

Make sure you get a full inspection done!
Don't know anything about GTR's myself, but if the brakes are low etc you can save yourself a fortune knowing they are low. All helps to justify lowering the price.
Or worst case, know you have to walk away because its been wrapped around a tree.
Hope you find what you are looking for

I know a little about the skyline having owned and worked on a few. Im also a member of the Skyline owners club too !!!!
One big thing is oil pressure, if you rev to 4000rpm and it dont reack 4 bar then run a mile as it will cost you dearly later !!!!
There are some real good ones about but also some real sh!!!!!!! about too
good luck

I know the R32 RB26 engines are generally regarded as the strongest.
the RB26 engines are allegedly good for 500BHP on standard internals.
Was going to get a skyline, but decided not to now as I've spent too much money on the scoob to sell it, so am just going to enjoy the car now

The standard turbos on the R33 Skylie are the week point and at about 400bhp will cause you problems, a few simple upgrades will see you with a nice 500 bhp beast of a car that will be as reliable as a standard one.
I personally had a gtst r32 running 450 ish bhp and had not one problem with the car and it was No dearer than my scooby to run/maintain !!!!!
Good luck with the search
