Hi People,
Now i haven't posted here much and have owned a black WRX MY05 for almost a year now !! Seeing this post however has prompted me to post because i have the same gauges.
Now comes the sad bit, although i know my electronics, mechanical work does worry me a little. I fitted the same gauges as baz69birds but with a twin pod houseing (see here http://www.wrx-carpc.co.uk/photos) OIL Pressure and BOOST gauges fitted.
About a month ago the car was due for its first service with Subaru and i took the sandwich plate for the OIL sender and asked them to fit it at the same time as the service. When i collected the car, they didn't fit the plate as they said they were concerned about the quality of the parts.
Now i'm guessing baz69birds has a similar set-up, so any help to convince me it is OK, or to assist in me getting these lovely gauges working would be greatly approiciated.
Its a shame to see them every day just sitting there inactive!! As i say i know electronics and computer stuff if i could return help.
Regards,
Steve

Ah, OK. Now you see what i mean about lack of experience in mechanics.
Where do you suggest i go from here. I have the sender unit and all other parts here ready and waiting.
I serioulsy would like to get this going.
Thanks for any help.

Don't use sandwich plates, as they're liable to leak.
when I fit gauges, I make the correct adaptor for the oil temp gauge (use bung above No 3 cyl as this is regarded as the hottest cylinder) and I make a T-Piece for the oil pressure gauge, so this still uses the original oil pressure switch

Cornelius - Are you in the Automative business, if so (or in any event) can you be pursueded to assist in the installation of mine. Basically all that needs doing is the mechanical connection of the OIL and BOOST gauges by using, as you suggested, appropriate 'T' pieces. I wouldn't have much of a clue where to connect or what type of tubing etc to use. I am of course willing to pay for your time. Unfortuanatly i did buy a sandwich plate which i guess will now be redundant.
Many thanks,
Steve
