Default All bufties that don't mind using a sponge

As above or anyone really. Was in Pitsea Tesco this morning doing the shopping and noticed that they are selling 3 car sponges for 97p, a bargain i thought.

Just thought i'd share that with you as the day looks like it's going to be rather warm. After a quick wash with the new sponges, the new flaps will be going on.

matt.

if you go to the walkway that runs down the length of the store with the isles on either side of it, the sponges are in wire bins. there's 2 offers, the little rectangular ones and the "pond shapped", lol, car ones.

i may pop down for some more later as i'm right next to tesco too. didn't want to look sad and buy a fivers worth in one go.

Use em fore arches and underbody cleaning only mate.

They will make scratching up your paintwork a breeze

If you don't use a sponge what do you use?

I use a micro fibre sponge (more gel/foam than sponge!)

Just curious!

Wanna be using a lambswool wash mitt mate or something very similar with very soft fibres and a deep pile to pull dirt and grit away from the paint surface, massively reducing the risk of scratching and swirling.

A sponge has no pile, therefore the dirt you remove has nowhere to go other than sit on the surface of the sponge.

This dirt/grit gets trapped between the sponge and the clearcoat surface when you drag the sponge across the car.

Hence how cars get micro scratches in them and swirl marks which mate the paint look awful in any kind of light.

I use a sponge for some parts of the car, and my wash mitt for the rest.

Although now, I might have to save all my money for Bedford, driver training and Ring Trips!

Where did you get your 2 clear buckets as them seem very hard to find (probably because the whole of Essex have them )
