Ive just checked out all those pics and they're amazing!!!
Can you imagine what it must of been like to be in a car rollin down that strip!
Every single car there had to pay £40K just to enter + £10K per passenger!!
If i have one dream in life mate............
I wanna do the Gumball

it won't be 70k next year. Likely to be around the 20k mark.
This year was only changed to 40k because they got the dispensation to drive through Thailand quite late. Normally entrance is £10k
I had deposit down to do it this year before the price hike. Def def def doing it next year though.
For all those that missed it on Sunday it was a totally awesome experience. Pall Mall in london closed totally to all traffic.
5 Mercedes McLaren SLRs
1 Ferrari 250GTO (worth £10million!!!!!)
2 Ferrari F50s
2 Ferrari F40s
1 Farboud GT (yes I have spelt it correctly)
1 Maserati MC12
1 Porsche Carrera GT
amoungst others!!
Highlight of the day was seeing, well hearing the Porsche GT having a rev-up competition with the Farboud. Noise was like nothing on this earth.
Brilliant experience!

Excuse my ignorance, but why does it cost so much? Is it because of the places they stay and the organisation costs or is it more to keep it as an elite affair and ensure the regular numpty boy racers don't enter?

Basically over the 5 day - 8 day (usually 5 days but 8 this year) trip your accommodation is covered as well as food and party entrance. The hotels they use are the best ... 5 or 6 star. The entrance fee is based on 1 car with two people in it. So the £10k was actually £5k per person.
Over the past two years a lot of of numpties have started doing it and with the amount of copycat races, which are all ****e, that have started up the organiser decided to hike it and take a permanent position in the market. Hence the revised format races (i.e. across every continent in the world, Europe, Asia and the Americas) and keep the price at a level which will keep tw@ts in pony motors out.
In terms of profitability they actually make very very little out of it as the outgoings are absolutely huge. Put it this way you can't just call up and get the London authorities to close Pall Mall for nothing!
A trip definitely worth the money regardless of whether you are a petrol head or not

So a bit of both then....cheers for that.
Something that I would love to do if I had the car and money to spare.
Don't forget enough to cover the speeding fines too!

The pack I got when I paid to do it stated that they reakon you should budget an additional 5-8k to cover fuel, fines, bribes and incidental expenditure. The the hard core asia and european areas fines and bribes can be £thousands.
Can't wait to be part of that start line. 100,000 people all around just watching - awesome natural ampitheatre

PMSL,
I was going to put up on here for a passenger but Adam WR1 nicked the place as soon as I mentioned it.
Gutted I missed this years one though - especially as it ends at the Playboy mansion with a bunny girl pool party!!!!
