Is this open to non-Essex scoobies? I did the SIDC day back in Feb and really enjoyed the curcuit. Always wanted to do the full curcuit.

not being funny but that price is very very steep! Whole point of having an organisation with clout, such as the SIDC, is that benefits such as greatly reduced track time is easily negotiated. Retrospective rebates count for absolute dick because with a price of £320 and no idea of the rebate level a great majority will not sign up.
Not that I care about the £320 but I do care about the people that are going to be on track with me.
I was under the assumption that Palmer Sport/Brands Hatch were chummy with the SIDC so why no discount????

Rob,
When I can only guarantee 2-3 bookings for this day PalmerSport will not be interested in a discount as this event will sell quickly anyway
I could of course get a better discount booking the whole event but we simply do not have the numbers
I am sure someone with your business skills understands the position
When we are able to to fill a whole day we can obtain substantial discounts as we showed back in Feb

dude you get it for £160.00 for a full day and I'll get you 20 people who want to go!!!
Yeh at £300+ nobody will be interested as after fuel and tyres the day is gonna cost £600+.
Surely the SIDC and yourself have the clout to talk to John Palmer and negotiate a substantial discount for 20+ members. Retrospective discounts are worthless as I can bet that the 'discount' will amount to not even a full tank of fuel.
What's the point of the SIDC benefits if we can't secure a nice big discount on a track day???

I would need to book +140 cars for the day !!
Limited the cars on track to 40 at a time
You can see what a "good" day it would be
The problem with the GP Circuit is that they only have license to use it IIRC 20 times a year and therefore there is a heavy premium for these days
They don't have to discount this day at all IT WILL SELL WITHOUT ANY PUSHING AT ALL. So I thought a retrospective discount IF we got good numbers was better than nothing

ok if Brands is totally out of the question for good money then sort us out a decent one at like Prodrive or Bedford for around the £100.00 mark.
Surely the SIDC has clout with all it's members to do something like this.
Get each car to have a palmersport sticker on the side and then get a reputable magazine to cover it with maybe a charity element.
I'm doing a charity track day in august and it's costing me zip to enter the car. All I gotta do is have a sticker on my car and take out some people who are paying money to charity for a thrill ride.
Come on Phil lets have some serious discounts on cool stuff like track days as part of the SIDC membership.
