Default ESC- Proboost

I recieved this PM from Mike (Essexboy) about proboost:

Thanks for the pro boost last night....
Not that i don't trust you guy's, but i contacted Silkolene today, so they could clearly state how the Pro Boost should be used. Here is the response....

Thank you for contacting our Technical Support Office today.

PRO BOOST can be used at a maximum dose level of 3% in fuel, above this level there is no further benefit from the product.

Common practice is to use PRO BOOST at 3%. If this works OK you may be able to pull back to 2%.

Very roughly speaking 3% will lift the RON by around 2 points, but modern engines respond well to it, so the best approach is 'try it and see'. Users often find that an engine requiring 100RON will run perfectly well on 98 RON with 2% PRO BOOST.

Dilution Rates:

1% = 10ml (or cc) of PRO BOOST per litre of fuel

1.5% = 15ml (or cc) of PRO BOOST per litre of fuel

2% = 20ml (or cc) of PRO BOOST per litre of fuel

2.5% = 25ml (or cc) of PRO BOOST per litre of fuel

3% = 30ml (or cc) of PRO BOOST per litre of fuel

Based on that response, i can't see how 2/3 cap fulls realy makes a difference?

Wasn't sure whether to post a note on this, to get any other opinions.

Regards

Mike

Going by the figures by Silkolene, for a 45 litre tank of petrol, you'll need to put in 1.35 litres of proboost!!!!! (For a 3% mixture)

Any comments??

Baz, mike (essexboy) isn't questioning proboost, just the quantity used.

I've noticed a difference with the car, as for the last week, I haven't put any in as I'm having a remap on tuesday and the car needs to be run on "clean" super unleaded

if your car is an Import, then definately yes, but I'd use it regardless anyway as it is pretty good stuff, and that's not just my say so, ask Tiny, Robbroy, Betts, Wilf, KevD, Dale.......etc etc

I have run the car on 3/4 litre and a full can..... with a full can the car runs as smoothly as the 3/4 can, but now pulls much better through the rev range, especially low down.... i guess i'll stick with the recomendation from the manufactures....

There is a dodgy geezer in the 'crew that gets it, hold on, that's me

at the moment, I'm trialing Putoline octane boost, which is a £1 more expensive than proboost, depending on the results I hear from Tiny, Robbroy, Dale and KevD I'll decide which to supply in future. As of yet, I haven't heard anything.
