Default *****August ESC Pub Meet*****

July's meet once again proved to be very successful with plenty of subarus turning up to the pub, and also a small auto jumble(thanks Mark). Augusts's meet will be on Saturday 25th 2012, this is bank holiday saturday as it is the only free weekend I have. Lets see if we can make this one bigger and better and hopefully we will have some more great weather.
The family owned pub offers fresh home prepared food hot & cold (food is served from 12 - 2pm) as well as a nice children friendly area for all the mini Esc members. For all the newbies out there that are thinking of coming along take a look at the thread for the april meet to see pictures of what to expect.

Knotty I'm hoping that a recirc may reduce the lag caused by the fmic piping.
Andy I'm sure mine is only 300mm as well.

Paul if you're suffering boost response due to a FMIC then you don't want a dump valve at all. What turbo is on the car?

It has a td05 mate though not sure what size. I also know it massively needs a remap, but with the wedding coming up it will have to wait or ill end up dead! Lol

Ditch the dump valve altogether. The TD05 should cope with the load. How much boost is it pushing?

Well it was always standard 0.9 bar but since fitting the fmic my digital gauge on my turbo timer quite often shows a peak of 1 bar.

At a bar youre not pushing anything to break on the turbo. Basically your little turbo has quite a job of filling all that pipework with air ad then it has to pressurise it.
You then go and fit a dump valve and every time you lift all that pressure is dumped and the turbo has to refill it all again. This is the apparant lag you're feeling.
It's not actually lag, it's boost response.
Best off losing the dump valve altogether and your pressure will be mostly kept in the system a your boost response will be much better.

My GT35 is shifting alot of air and I don't use a dump alve of any sort.

That all makes a lot of sense mate. Tbh car came with the dump valve on it so I have never had a recirc valve. Cheers for all the info frayz
