RAC Windscreens - Grrrrrrrrr
What a nightmare I am having getting my windscreen changed!
Here goes:
Visit 1 ~ Fitter turns-up with no rubber trim so can't change screen
Visit 2 ~ Fitter cancels fitting due to rain
Visit 3 ~ Fitter doesn't turn-up at all - no call, nothing
Visit 4 ~ Fitter doesn't turn-up at all - no call, nothing
Visit 5 ~ Fitter turns-up with no rubber trim so can't change screen
NOT VERY HAPPY!!!!!!
How hard is it to get a poxy windscreen changed these days?
Can't even go elsewhere because this is being done through the insurance and they only use RAC windscreens.

I got my screen on the 03sti changed by RAC windscreens, in the Chelmsford depot. Dropped the car off, went for a quick drink in the pub.
Top Job and a better than std screen!
Also had my wifes focus screen done there as well, another top job.
Maybe it's better to book the car into the depot?

After a recommendation from the fitter who turned up today, they have ordered a dealer supplied part. i.e. They will get an original part from Subaru instead of their RAC branded part. He reckons the Subaru part is better fitting and better quality screen.

Had a problem with them last year
Booked the car in but never got a call back to confirm, phoned them up and it had been booked for the next day , oh well no problem i thought as i was off anyway, next day i get a call we have just checked your screen and it has a crack in it and have got to order another one
Gets booked for a couple of days later gets a call a couple of days later and they have the screen in and have double checked and it's all OK , about a hour later the fitter phones up and hes checked the screen and guess what it has a big crack in it
Told them to forget it and went to autoglass and had no problems at all

Steve do your self a favour and check it has the vin notch in the screen (if your 03 has it already of course) I've fitted a couple and not noticed it didn't
Also make sure the guy does a pre inspection prior to you leaving it, and then have a lookie round when you pick it up, should be fine of course but accidents happen. Easy enough to do so all should be peachy.

I checked with them about the VIN notch (thanks to your previous advice ) and the one he brought along today did have the VIN notch. He also did the pre-inspection.
As they are now ordering a dealer part (from Subaru) the glass should have the VIN notch....I hope.
