Hi

I have a strange problem on my bug, if im sat in traffic on idle for more than a few minutes i get the check light come on.

The Error code is P171 engine running lean on bank 1

anyone know what could cause this please?

Are you put any induction kit on yours or any mods without the mapping,if yes then you will need tweak of the map

If you are not put anything,then can be the air leak,dirty MAF etc

cheers guys, yes I have done a few mods without having it mapped, I need to get Duncan back down to tweak it then by the sounds of it.

 

Code means the engine is leaner than it wants to be in closed loop. Chances are this is the same in open loop (ie on boost) so I wouldn't be pushing it hard at all until we can map your mods in.
