Engine Management Light - Again!
The poxy light is on again on my 2005 Hawk STi and was wondering if anyone in the know could tell the likely source of the problem. I have already changed both lambda sensors so doubt it would be either of these again. I don't have time to take it anywhere for a diagnosis until after the new year so a heads up would be great. Oh and I've not added anything new or tinkered with it. Cheers.

Update on this.
So after finally biting the bullet and realising I had to do something about this and not live in denial. I looked at various used parts and thought about replacing the valves and pump but the cost even for second hand parts plus fitting was insane, so I got the hump rang Paul at extreme scoobies and arranged to have the system blanked out and removed. So after a couple of weeks had the work done and Duncan mapped it out of the ecu, though the parts weren't removed from the car just blanked out. Happy with the result, its been a few months now and no issues at all. Car is running sweet as!

what did they do then? just unplug the wiring connector from the pump? then have the codes removed from ECU?
i was interested in getting mine done, its not giving any issue currently, but thought about getting it disconnected but was told to get it removed completely as it can still cause issues if left in situ

As he said it's been blanked off, presumably at the heads, to prevent hot exhaust gas getting to the pump.

It can't cause issues if its been disconnected. There are about 6 parts to the blanking kit I believe and its about a 4 hour job as you need to get to the downpipe and manifold (I'm sure he said this) plus the 2 valves. I'll remove the unit eventually as its completely idle. The pump is shot too as once the valve(s) fail then water gets into it rusting the bearings etc knackering it out.

All you need is the 2 blanking plates fitted to the back of the heads. That's all the blanking kit is. You leave the solenoids fitted where they are and just unplug the plastic pump. Job done.
Rich at FB Tuning fitted both my plates in around an hour. Then Duncan turned the codes off in the ECU as he did with yours.
