Default newbie has a prova

hi all im new to the scoob world having been a evo chap.. iv bought a WRX 95 import still has the 112 limit and reads in kilometres.

car is standard apart from a cat back and cone filter.

with the car i have been given a PROVA ecu. iv done abit of home work and understand its a aggressive map for 100ron.

my 1st Q.. is the delimter gearbox end like my evo or behind clocks??

my 2nd Q.. what bolt on mods would i need to keep this prova ecu save?? im thinking walbro fpr injectors??

im aware im going to have to use octane boost.. any ideas or thoughts will be very welcome...

On your 95 delimiter will be on your gearbox output cable just like mine.
As for the prova, I don't think uk mappers are involved with these ecu's.
Ditch it for simtek, or esl to keep costs down. There's plenty of options. You want something that you can have good technical support with etc from a uk mapper. IMO

Nice to see, that there are some more 95 WRXs around with a Prova ECU. Had one in mine, too. From what I could find on the internet, the mapping is for 100 octane fuel but not as aggressive as the Mines ECUs. But I wasn't sure either, if I could operate the car safely with our V-Power Racing 100 here in Germany. Previous owner stated, that he had no troubles running it with the 1.1bar but to keep things save, I had it running at 0.8 bar until it got checked by a tuner. So I had an appointment with Bob Rawle to have a look at it but in the end decided to go for a Simtek Pro/GEMS (Alcatek wasn't available at that time) when he's already at it. Just because I found no possibility to have the Prova daughterboard remapped if it shouldn't be ok and further upgrades for the car were planned.
Long story short, I never regretted this step, although it cost me a bit of money. Thanks to Bobs magic the car runs a lot smoother with speed density and - which is even better - produces more hp than we all would have expected.

My old Impreza was a 94 WRX which i ran a Prova chipped Z4 Ecu. I ran it with a full decat system, cosworth panel filter. It boosted at 1.1bar. I had this set up for around 2 years and it was a great. Pretty fast for a standard'ish car. Always ran it on V-Power.

Guess it is normally set up for 1.1bar, since it's about the highest value your standard map sensor can read. With your/our standard injectors people tend to say, that they max out at 280-290ish bhp. With 1.4bar (via boost controller), Apexi cone filter, 3" catback, RCM340 fuel pump, the Simtek Pro and of course Bobs magic, mine ended up at 311hp (306bhp) on V-power. Spool was nuts compared to how it ran at 0.8bar. Even scared my sister when I took her for a ride the next day... So yes, imho 300bhp are plenty for fast road.
Just that you have some data on what to expect
