Engine Noise

Engine Noise
Hi guys, can someone in the know listen to the video linked below and see if my engine sounds normal or if there is any issues that can potentially be detected. I am sure my old scooby sounded exactly the same (slight tapping noise as it ticks over).Does anyone know what causes this sound and if it can be made to sound smoother.
Sorry for the total novice question but I don't really have a head for engines yet.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hard to tell from the clip, but most Scoobys sound crap on tick over especially if high milage or running forged pistons. If the noise isn't there when held at 2500rpm or when the throttle is blipped then it's probably OK, but I'd let a specialist listen just to be sure.

Scooby Regular
Sounds the same as my hawk matey.
Passenger side is more tappy than drivers on mine, but I've been told this is normal, and that it's just a noisy valve train.
Oh and it's a bit raspy under low revs and heavy loud pedal action too, but again, I've been told its just the boxer engine.
