Restrictor Pill - '99 wrx auto pre-remap questions
I want to remap my '99 wrx auto soon for pops and bangs on Shell Nitro+.
The previous owner fitted:
Walbro 255 lph Fuel Pump fitted
Service - New NGK Platinum Plugs, Fuel filter, Oil filter
HKS Front Mount Intercooler
With a view to changing injectors turbo etc before remapping, which he hasn't before selling up.
I'm not chasing big numbers and so want to fit a TMIC, possibly an STi or hyperflow tmic with OEM BOV. A sportscat and Afterburner Vortex setup. Then map it.
Crucially Slowboy racing found a missing restrictor pill, I've now received one from Proven with a view to fitting it today. However the thought crossed my mind that MAYBE the previous owner consciously removed the restrictor pill because he was not yet ready to remap midway through upgrades and needed to continue driving it without damaging it?
I get the impression he was far heavier footed than I, but I do use the car 'urban' daily and I'm still sourcing my intended TMIC and Zorst changes.
Should I fit the restrictor pill now or wait in your opinion until just before I'm remap ready?
Thanks for reading.

If it has been installed correctly & you're having it remapped anyway then it should be an improvement I doubt you will notice any more lag, going back to a top mount just seems a bit of a backwards step to me.
